Welcome to the site...please be patient, as it is still under construction.  Feel free to email any suggestions, links, etc. to help improve it!!

Check out my Kids Disabilities Awareness PEI inspirational video on Utube! Be sure to share it with others...it sends a very powerful messege!

This site has been created to help elementary school aged children to better understand children with disabilities.  It first began as a Psychology Assignment at the University of Prince Edward Island, and soon bloomed into what I believe to be a wonderful program to create disability awareness at the elementary school level.

The Jellybean Theory~

Jellybeans are like people:  they come in different colors and different flavours...but they are all still jellybeans.  Sometimes, there are jellybeans that kind of look different, they have an odd shape (not like the rest of the jellybeans) or sometimes there are two melded together.  Would you still eat them anyway?  Most likely "yes".  So, now do you see how jellybeans are just like people?  Just because someone is a little different, or has a disability, doesn't mean we can't be their friend!

Mission Statement

To show non-disabled children that their disabled peers are only different on the outside, that they are more ALIKE than they are DIFFERENT!
